  • Does anyone have strawberry plants hanging up in their greenhouse.

I have just bought some strawberry plants and thought it might be space saving if they were hanging up in the greenhouse.

If anyone has can you tell me what to buy and how to hang them or does anyone know if you can buy the equipment from the greenhouse people.

    Thanks

    Hi Linda,

Good idea ... should be able to keep the slugs/ pheasants / mice etc from getting to them first!!

My greenhouse came with hanging basket rails ... these have holes along them. I got some hooks (cheapo ones from Ikea) and hung up some baskets.

These are empty at the moment. I was planning on planting up some of them with various succulents (it will be hot in there over the summer) ... but I have some spare strawberries so I might give them a go. I also fancy trying nasturtiums ... or some cherry toms and basil.

    Hi Linda

Do you mean this one? :)

It's lovely thanks, but I've been so busy in the garden making the most of the fine and warm weather I've not even had a proper look at it yet
Another 36 bags of manure arriving on friday and I've still got some of the last lot still to spread.. never enough time!

    Hope all's well with you

I bought and erected a rhino greenhouse last winter. The instructions were good and it is really well made. I dropped a piece of glass onto concrete and it didn't break! I'd recommend them without hesitation.

    Looking good Pete image

Bit worried how close the pond is to the GH door though, might have a accident one day.

Are you putting anything on the patio?

Thanks Perki - you're right - the pond is in the wrong place, but the landscapers set it in concrete! It should have been about 1ft to the right, but it can't be moved now. I'll just have to be careful.

No idea what to do with the rest of the area. 4 water butts on 1 side of the g/house and cold frames across the other side.

  • Hi everyone,

Well I now have a lovely new greenhouse and it has just been erected.

I have bought staging and finally managed to erect one frame, (so so fiddly),

I am not sure about the battons though.

Following the instructions it will mean that the wood will not be flush on the frame.

Can anyone let me know if this is right please?

    Thanks

Not sure I can picture what you're saying Linda.

    Any chance of a pic?
