I saw the blue tits doing the same on my plum, but they must have lucked out as they went straight to the peanuts after. And yes because we have stopped counting the birds there are twice as many about, I was watching 7 each of woodpideon and black birds digging for worms in the front garden today.🙄
Finally a brambling turned up today, so late that it's already starting to get into its breeding colours. I was convinced we weren't going to see one this year.
If you can keep your head, while those around you are losing theirs, you may not have grasped the seriousness of the situation.
We had a little pair of siskins visiting today. First time in this garden, although we used to get them regularly round the corner in a previous garden. Window cleaner came a bit too late, so apologies for the 'not brilliant' photos
