  • Gorgeous wood pecker.
  • I was very happy to spot a pair of goldcrests in the garden today.  Not on the bird feeders, but finding insects in the bark of my plum tree.   :)

It must be a year since I last saw them.
Since 2019 I've lived in east Clare, in the west of Ireland.
  • I saw the blue tits doing the same on my plum, but they must have lucked out as they went straight to the peanuts after. And yes because we have stopped counting the birds there are twice as many about, I was watching 7 each of woodpideon and black birds digging for worms in the front garden today.🙄

Blue tit feeding at the peanuts garlands in my garden today.

  • The one bird that has been missing all winter has suddenly appeared,  we now have the song thrush back singing in the trees.

Finally a brambling turned up today, so late that it's already starting to get into its breeding colours. I was convinced we weren't going to see one this year.
If you can keep your head, while those around you are losing theirs, you may not have grasped the seriousness of the situation.

We had a little pair of siskins visiting today. First time in this garden, although we used to get them regularly round the corner in a previous garden.
Window cleaner came a bit too late, so apologies for the 'not brilliant' photos

It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
  • Beautiful birds there, I see the green leaves. Well not so many green leaves here in Calgary yet.lol

  • Partridges were in my backyard this morning.
The last pic is off the internet, a good up close look.
