Lovely pix Dove. Autumnal colours are superb. Thanks for sharing  image

I'm not a fan of grasses any more either,  but there's a few I like and still have. I think you need a big area to do them justice generally, and many places don't, or don't associate them well with other plants. Lovely when you see it done well.

I love the 'bunny tails' and blood red (Imperata?) combo though. image

It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...

Pretty sure that's Imperator Red Baron image Adrian Bloom has planted it like a river running through a very large bed from one edge to another. It looks fantastic image

I get the feeling that is the kind of garden you could really loose yourself in. Thank you for sharing Dove!

Thanks Dove.  I'm not a huge grasses fan either but here they've been very well blended with the other plants and I like the use of conifers too for structure in amongst the perennials.   Fabulous colours.

My friends with the hectare in Belgium have been inspired by the island beds at Foggy Bottom and I shall certainly be considering some here.   Love the all-round views of plants and they love the extra light.

This article gives an interesting insight into the way Adrian Bloom uses plants

Thanks Dove.  Stored for reading before I hit the local nursery.

I seem to have missed this this thread, but I remember Dove saying she would post photos. Thank you Dove, lovely photos. Good to see the gardens in autumn. I've seen them in June and July, but not so late. Earlier in the year the grasses are much less evident. Flowers reign.
