Yes - it was a terrible crop - even more so as it's actually a deformed pear!! I think the tree needs potting on and possibly got too dry. There are more photos on the blog - if you click on the link.
Sorry your apples weren't good - what do you think went wrong? Our apples were pretty good this year.
Oh dear Runnybeak! I guess even if you have found a crop does well one year, it might not the next. Nothing to be embarrassed about though. Everyone has some spectacular failures every year I'm sure :-)
As you mention the pear (oops, thought it was an apple), may have been a bit dry, maybe my apples were too. They are planted in the garden in different places, 4 trees. My two pear trees were even worse, they look healthy but what little fruit there was, dropped off before maturity. I was worried the trees may have a fungal infection or some kind of infestation. There is always next year, I will clear round the trees and mulch, then fingers crossed. Will look at your web site.
1. Cucumber Crystal - v.v. high cropping and yellow and circular like an apple, looked good but no taste. All recipients of my free veg were not impressed.
2. Yellow courgettes - no taste unlike the usual green, back to green next year (seeing the pattern..?)
3. Garlic, I just can't seem to grow this, it comes out many months later just the same size as the clove I put in?
Goodies were the usuals : Sungold toms, Green courgettes, French beans, Sweetcorn Swift (fab now I know to hand pollinate), strawberries (when I get there before the blackbirds)
I now avoid yellow courgettes as they don't seem to crop as well for me as green ones. Never tried crystal cucumber, but considered growing it - might skip it!! garlic i grow in pots and it generally does quite well, providing it goes in early enough and gets cold enough in the winter :-)

Dogwood. Your photo of the Apple looks a lot like my crop. Very disappointing . What went wrong?

3 worst crops for me this year (outdoor, Surrey):

Hello , Figs , planted a tree a couple years ago on allotment , it grows well and gets lots of figs but they never ripen
Hello GWRS - well that's one up on me - I never even get figs and mine is 7 years old!!
Interesting Scroggin, maybe it depends on location or variety?
Hello , cucumbers outside ones did better than those in g/h that had rather a lot of male flowers on them , no idea why - the joy of gardining
