Agree with you, Verdun. Same nonsense goes for "gardening by the moon".image

Can't speak for "gardening by the moon" but sun-sign stuff is a load of '70s tosh in my opinion.  I used to enjoy it when I was young.

Anyone heard of Myers-Briggs profiling?  Same deal for me - you can read someone else's result and go, yeah- that's totally me.  Then read your own and go, yeah - that's totally me! :)

    Just my opinion.

Boring contribution............my Bosch strimmer battery died so I pay a local gardener £10.00 a month to come and cut the grass and take it away.

  • Thanks everyone for your help and contributions! I know nothing of star signs, moon-gazing or the like but I do think that the cheapo cordless mowers look like they might not be up to the job and might not last long at all. I may have to compromise and go for a new petrol mower I think.

  • Just in passing, and whilst talking about cordless versus corded versus petrol,  I did grasp the cordless nettle and buy a battery powered strimmer from B and Q last year. Can't remember the make...begins with an M. Might be McAllister; shed's too far a walk from here to bother checking.

Its absolutely superb and trims the entire edge of my fairly extensive lawned area without hesitation, deviation or repetition, leaving enough oomph to tidy up the messy path by the hedge as well.

Highly recommended, and no, I don't work for them.

  • Yes I agree Verdun, and so I've had another change of plan! I'm paying someone £20 to do the lawn for the rest of the year like you, Newboy2, and will invest in a cordless for spring. Seems more sensible than buy one now to sit in the shed all winter. I might find a bargain you never know!

    Verdun

    Words of wisdom

This is a story in itself why I dont have a lawn mower

I had a shed with a rat under it

I moved the shed and the rat moved as well

I gave the shed to my Community garden for storage

    The rat disappeared

Now I have no where to store a mower apart from my conservatory which is really part of the house

Its a bit like there was an old lady etc etc
