Look up wholesale bulb dealers. They can do large orders cheaper. Jparker has a wholesaler but I'm not crazy about them. I ordered my bulbs in August and they are just showing up tomorrow. You may have a wait.
If you don't care what you get so much, Wilkos is good. Also good for November late buys.
I agree 200 don't go too far.
Definitely plant the crocuses and daffs in blocks. In a small garden you can have some impact with small clumps but they look much better with friends than they do spaced out one by one.
I have my daffodils planted under a hardy geranium (brookside). That way when the daffs are gone the geranium foliage covers them.
Good points/ideas about the fading foliage. Many of my Daffs are nestled amongst other plants so don't look too messy post flowering but I have a few on the lawn (unsure if intentional from previous owners??) which can look a bit untidy. My OH mowed over them last year... but they did grow back!
Been preparing a small area for bulbs (mostly Aliums) so will have to see if that works out or whether bulbs are better amongst existing border plants...
Thanks so much for all this advice!! I really need it!!!
Money isn't really a major sticking point for me... i'm looking for quality which will suit my garden more than anything... I've done an incredible amount of work over the past 3 months from a barren waste land to something i really really love!!..
I will def get onto the catalogs and carefully choose which bulbs I like the most rather than a big bundle; colour, fragrance, size and flowering time are important to me.
I will take a little walk around my garden tonight and have a think about how many bulbs I need and then order a few more (just in case)
Some people have said that 200 bulbs will be planted v.quickly!! I think 200 is healthy number and definitely some space from them amongst the borders. If not, then i'll put a few in pots...
I'd go for the smaller varieties in that garden and plant them in groups in strategic spots. Don't blanket plant. Regarding dying down, the advice re planting something over them to hide the dying leaves is a good one and hardy geraniums are very useful for this. I would plant tulips in pots and place them round the garden as the dying foliage on them is later than a lot of the daffs so interferes more with summer planting. Choose your combinations carefully. I'd take a look at Sarah Raven combinations they are beautiful, but of course you don't have to buy from her website you can shop arround.
Be generous when you plant up pots. I always plant bulbs in cheap plastic pots that fit into more expensive ceramic or terracotta. That way you can remove the plastic pots and replace with some more planted with summer flowers.

@pokhim,
Your nice little garden looks really small. Where do you plan to plant all those bulbs?

Lovely garden by the way.
