How is your chilli harvest looking this year?

This year I've turned into a bit of a chilliaholic ☺
I'm growing 39 plants of 17 varieties from SHU 1-350,000. I've had a wander through the good, the bad and the spicy in my new blog post :

I'm using them for stuffing with cream cheese and roasting, for Thai curries and soups. What are fellow growers using them for this year and how is the harvest going?

hi dogwoodydays mine are medina chillis made 4 bottles off dip about 6 or 8 to make goe.s with almost everything
Thanks Micheal - haven't grown those, I'll take a look
have just taken about 30 medina chillis for home wife making more dip she says going to try a couple of garlic segments in to try to improve taste
Wow that's pretty impressive. I would like to grow some more chilli plants next year. I have just one plant - a scotch bonnet one which was given to me. I think it's about th flower but no chillies yet. I am not sure whether to leave it outside or bring it in and put on window sill as outside temp is getting colder.
Bring it inside wakeshine - they can't take much cold but will keep going (all winter, probably) indoors.
Okay thanks Bob. It's just that I thought I read somewhere you have to leave them out so bees can pollinate the flower before the peppers are produced. But if not then I'll bring it in.
You have loads of nice chilli's growing, just visited your blog!. Ive got very fond of chillis myself recently and have about 20 odd plants growing (around 7 or 8 varieties).
This is my Takanotsume that I took a pic of yesterday, one of my favs!!
Ive had plenty of Padrons this year, they are quick growers so brilliant to harvest all through the summer and into the autumm,
This is my little Numex Memorial Day. The can has restricted growth but have 2 or 3 slightly bigger ones too. The one I have outside has lots of little chilli's on it.
Sily question, but are chilli plants perennials?
They can be but they need to kept inside if they are in a colder climate like the UK. They will definitely die if left outside over the winter period but if you take them inside and provide them with heat and light they can live for several years.
Alternatively I overwintered one of my sparkler chillis last year (cut one down to a little 5inch stump) and kept it in my spare room. It grew back leaves late winter and by the time spring came around it was looking quite spritely again. I am going to try and do the same this year and see how many years I can get from it.
hi chris/ dogswoody the wife has tried a new way for chilli dip dip as normal but a half a clove of garlic about 6 segments chopped in blender WHOO a bit hot so looks like it is for stews or soup Michael
