Unbearable!! I'm a prisoner indoors until about 6pm - it's like a furnace out there today and no shade anywhere  46c in the g/house with blinds down and everything open

It's the pollen that defeats me. I water early on in the morning when the pollen count is at its lowest.

The garden is a joy to go around first thing. I am alarmed at the absence of insects. I haven't seen one butterfly this year and very few bees. I don't use insecticides or anything harmful and have a bug hotel in a tree. I have many frogs however in my pond though and lots of birds on my feeders.

  • Too hot here but luckily a lovely wind - more than a breeze - I think it is about force 4 - very welcome in this heat to make it refreshing.

Same here daydaisy, a shortage of bees and butterflies, although now we have the pond we have damsel flies and water boatmen. There even seem to be less ants too.

Butterflies keep coming into the kitchen, 3 different sorts, but I don't know if they are the same ones that come in. I keep putting them outside.

Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.

Been 30 in shade today. Don't know how I'm going to cope in work tomorrow - trying not to think about it!

Quite perfect this evening - calm, quiet and a much cooler 22.

My garden and I live in South Wales.

Fabulous weather since Friday , had dinner outside , infact still outside in Polo shirt at 9 - 20 pm

we had thunder storms forecast but didn't happen , hopefully a great summer image

  • Same here GWRS, too hot and too dry.  Are we never happy with our weather?? Actually it has been very nice sitting in the garden today, but far too hot to do any work other than watering the garden in the evening.

Glorious weather here in Ire. love sitting in the shade watching all the activity in the garden, bees, butterflies, spiders, birds cooling down in water bath, as it's too hot to be out in the garden.  Long may it last.  I'm lucky we don't have our water metered, not sure how much I'm using every day keeping plants alive.  The poor cats and dog though are wiped out.
