We braved the weather to go to B+Q , Hubby getting DIY stuff,so I quickly picked out 2 lavenders 2Rosemary,some Saxifraga,Thyme and Aubretia, just some basics for my naked garden!! At least I can increase all these in time. So not a day wasted, and it will all be there to plant tomorrow, when it's supposed to be nice.............l hope!?
The whole truth is an instrument that can only be played by an expert.
Stockton on Tees. Sunshine and showers, slightly warmer not much. Looking up the Garden the sunshine is bouncing off the rain drops on the shrubs and plants gleaming like candles on a Christmas tree. It may be February usually the coldest month but there is always something to lift the spirits.
Its a sunny day here at the moment after two days of continuous rain, got up this morning to find four builders on my balcony moving all my pots and troughs out on to the scaffolding quite a relief I thought I would have to move them all myself indoors they are now cleaning all the decking ready to put on three coats of a new non slip weather stain..........."Non slip" we will wait and see
I have new babies this morning, Helianthus annuus, Echinacea purpurea and Hollyhock Halo Red
With a bit of luck the balcony will be finished soon and I can get my little green house set up.
"A society grows great when old men plant trees whose shade they know they shall never sit in."
Dry & bright here at last after days of frost then wind cloud & rain, yesterday pm was particularly awful. Off to allotment soon to see what damage the wind has done this time.
Stockton, a slight frost although now sunny and bright, a slight breeze, not exactly a Zephyr but a little bit warmer than yesterday morning.
We were celebrating yesterday the ANGEL of the North was twenty, it gets the key of the door next year. For those who have not stood at its feet it is monumental in all ways, you crick your neck looking up and in a high wind the arms shudder and wave. We pass it every time we use the Airport or go North to Scotland as you dive into or even out of the Tyne Valley. It certainly put the forgotten North on the map.

Dry , sunny , cold , nice day
After a damp & dull start the day has just got better and better, virtually no wind and full sunshine - long may it last!
Hope your allotment is sound Iain - surely we have seen the last of the strong winds for this season?
It's been sunny here too, interspersed with hail showers! A nuisance when trying to get some wood preserver on!, ? ?
