Over here near the Vendée coast we had a bright and sunny morning but are now enjoying a heavy shower and strong winds - not forecast! However the rain is welcome.
Vendée - 20kms from Atlantic coast.

The wind last night was horrendous, so lucky to have escaped with little any damage although our heavy garden bench and a potted Olive tree blew over. More strong wind forecast for tonight and rain.
Stockton is covered with a bridal gown of pure white virginal snow. Needless to say I will not be venturing out to do some double digging, seeds will stay in their packets and I will have my feet up in the warm room writing on here and drinking tea.
Just been down the garden and the fence at the end has blown down onto my brassica cage. Only a slight dent and fortunately the rest of the fence is laying in their garden not mine. And it's their fence. I know she was planning on replacing it, hopefully it'll get done soon.

A wild night but all noise & bluster no damage at home need to go to allotment though I suspect the Brassica cage may not have been so lucky.
