  • Dull, damp morning here, same this afternoon and then the next storm is due to hit us - forecast up to force 9 perhaps even worse.  Let's hope the trees can stand up to this wind better than I can.

How ridiculous that we are being warned not to take "storm selfies" !!?!

Very windy, in big gusts, woke me in the night. The last storm was more wet than windy, this one is the other way round. It rained so much at the weekend that the big horse food buckets were nearly half full, about 6 or 7 inches.

Hope you're all ok in the windier parts of Britain.  It was a bit blowy here during the night, but the only casualty seems to be the dustbin...

Since 2019 I've lived in east Clare, in the west of Ireland.

Stockton on Tees sunshine and warmer, no breeze to talk of, if it was windy during the night I missed it. We will see what the rest of the day brings.

I was awake till after 5am listening to the wind howl and waiting for bangs.   It's still blowing with gusts down to 100kph now and reducing thru the day but getting wet.  Need it to slow down so we can get the garage roof put back!

Really wild here last night and still blowing a hooley out there. Not too much damage - 70mph winds at this time of year are normal, really - we've already had three storms of similar energy - so what was going to break mostly already has, although ash trees seem to lose another branch with every gale. And there's more to come tomorrow, apparently. Everything is completely sodden image. Our pond is overflowing. There's a lake where the lawn used to be.

Storm selfies - 2 people have been washed into the sea around this coast in the last 48 hours. Don't know whether they were taking photos but clearly getting much too close to the water for some reason.

  • Our strongest winds seemed to be late last night rather than in the early hours as forecast. Looking out of front lounge window at 11pm we had what we call "Hollywood rain" seemed to be blowing down road in waves. After a dull start it's much brighter now. Off to the Allotment soon to see if the fruit & Brassica cages have survived!
