Hi the tattooed gardener, I suggest you put some weed membrane down so you aren't having to weed all the time! You can buy it is rolls from any garden or DIY store! Hope this helps.
Flowergirl3 I have already stapled weed membrane down over the beds, perhaps it's not clear from the pics I intend to plant most of my veg in x slits through it
beds are ready and the first bed is planted with onions and lettuce, and iv got 3 types of carrots planted in another. Lots more to go in in the next few weeks.
Also you can just see in the first pic my new compost bin which only cost 8quid!

I love the quote well TROTTED manure, how we love predictive text.
Looking good tattooed gardener ??
Are the canes for peas/beans?
We grow a wall of peas up netting attached to a 6ft fence panel. Really sweet and tasty, straight from the garden.
Hope you have a productive first year in your new beds.
Ah thanks, yh the canes are for peas/sweet peas/french beans. I might try the wall of peas idea instead now though
It saves on space in my tiny garden. You'd still have room to grow more in front.
I've put horizontal battens, top, middle and bottom to fix the netting to.
Space is at a premium as you can see so the netting idea is perfect for me, thanks for the tip
