Well CB I don't think Mr Squirrel pays much attention to his diet either! I did blame the mice for a long time (sorry mice) but pretty much caught him in the act, in my experience anything that happens in my garden is normal. With the possible exception of birds nesting in my undies
I saw the feeders at Wisley some years ago and decided they would be better than the plain tubes, they are brilliant and even foil the parrot but they are a curse to dismantle for cleaning. I have been looking for some time for a more user friendly version that is still as protective.

I had one similar to those in your picture herbaceous but got rid of it when I discovered a large rat had got in between the bars. It soon dashed away when I chased it but I didn't want a repeat performance.

Oh Ladybird, I won't be able to get rid of that picture now! I'm not sure how I can even out the feeding without some kind of cage. The tube feeders just get mobbed by the bigger birds, who, in my opinion, can just fend for themselves.........
