I was concerned that with all the drug business I would not enjoy the Olympics this time.

Nothing could be further from the truth, I am watching, and loving every bit of it.

Particularly loved the white water canoeing, and the track cycling has had me screaming at the TV.

On the 2012 flowers .....not sustainable, I agree, but they did attempt to recycle.  I bought one of the rose bushes, and it continues to reward (as a cut flower plant, not a garden worthy one).  Here is a bloom cut this morningimage

Lauding Rio for not having bouquets for the winners made me chuckle.  True, there is an environmental cost in producing them and flying them in from wherever they're produced, but in comparison to the environmental impact of producing, and using, the millions of tons of concrete required to build the stadia, the overall effect is miniscule.

    DHR.

I am afraid that saying KJT has not practised enough, sounds ridiculous. How do you know?!

I recall a similar comment made about Federer doc, pre Wimbledon.

The great man had been injured and was therefore not match fit. Doesn't matter how much experience you are, or how brilliant, no amount of training can replicate being in competition. Totally different disciplines. image

Given her medical history KJT has done well to qualify and get to Rio without nursing an injury - her high jump last night was fantastic.

I thought that high jump showed everything that was good about sport. Great skill, determination, the will to win, and great sport womanship.

Thoroughly agree doc. The two girls looked genuinely pleased with their efforts, and appreciative of each other   image

Dove. [ and apologies to all who are teachers! ]

My Dad, who was a teacher, used to say: "you doctors, you just bury your mistakes".

I used to reply: "let those of who can, do, and those of you who can't teach".

    No nastiness intendedimage
