I am loving the Olympic coverage - but its ruining my sleep pattern! So much more fascinating than the bulk of British TV which is dross. So many repeats of everything that I resent paying my licence fee at times. Sorry folks having a bit of a moan - not usually me Put it down to lack of sleep (well worth it!) C'mon Andy!
Cacoethes: An irresistible urge to do something inadvisable
Thanks Dove - they showed it later so I had a good laugh!
Weren't the cyclists and the rowers great - and the dressage team of course. I love Carl Hester. He's single handedly made Britain a world player in the last decade, in a sport dominated forever by the Germans and the Dutch so it's a massive achievement, and with huge modesty and good humour. When is he getting his knighthood Madge?
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....
I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
I love Carl Hester too, lovely, generous man. Watched all the Dressage on the red button yesterday. Superb. Hope Charlotte and Allegro do well in the individual Free Style on Monday. I prefer Peter Storr's commentary to Ian Stark's, but Peter is a dressage rider whereas Ian is an eventer.
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.
Never liked him as a rider either - everything done at a hundred miles an hour. Hate to think how many decent horses suffered due to his heavy handed approach. We had a nice young horse that ended up with him as the girl who bought him didn't feel she could take him far enough. He was a girl's horse though - I broke him when expecting my first child - and he was a delight to work with. Lovely lightweight, quality animal. Utterly unsuitable for him to ride
I think the mark of the man (Carl) is that he gave Valegro to Charlotte, realising she would get a better tune out of him. Not many people would have done that.

There are some stonking tennis matches going on. Glad it is best of 3 as well, somehow keeps the nationalistic momentum going.
It's doing nothing for my heart palpitations Daisy...I'll need medication if Andy carries on like that!

What are you in Verd? Is there a doughnut eating event this time? I'm putting a fiver on you for the gold then

Fairy, I'm glad my blood pressure was checked yesterday morning as it certainly must have gone up during the last two matches.

Hadn't realised it'd carried on from the day before ...
Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.
