Death by drowning? Pretty brutal. I've found loads of slugs in my greenhouse this year but it turned out they were getting in from damaged cement in one of the corners. Since fixing that I've seen almost none (probably still hiding in there), I keep the door closed over night but not the window (on the top).
I've had two baby toads in it this week, probably came in through the door at some point.
I'm with Verdun; last year my tomatoes were devasted by slugs and caterpillars but this year I've had no trouble at all (despite finding quite a few slugs in there), plus as a bonus the tomatoes are the best ever!
Well I decided to brutal, removed everything form the greenhouse gave it a really good clean and even used a sulphur candle, I'm not going to store empty plant pots in there any longer even though they are all washed out and when I give it all another go next year I will look into plants such as tagaets. Verdum you might have hit the nail on the head with plants growing next to the greenhous, I put some low growing ones in along one side earlier this year which I will now be replanting somewhere else this wkend.
