Have you had a look to see if there's damage to the bark on that branch?

Looking at the photo the top left looks a bit yellow as well, is it?

Ok Verdun, next time i call over my sons house I'll look for signs of canker or damage to the branch.

  • Mine is exactly the same!  I've been searching for how to deal with the problem for around 4 years now and tried all sorts.  Last spring I tried a couple of doses of diluted urine to add nitrogen and it seemed to have an effect but the problem has now returned so I will try that again and cross my fingers!  We have had very strong winds in the past couple of months and I had suspected that has been the cause this time.
  • What was the answer to this question please? Phytophthora?

Our plant has done the same in a section towards the back of the plant.
    Nothing to indicate why.
The rest of the plant is great.
