    Thanks for all the responses. I read online that I could flush the nutrients from my plants by overwatering with ph balanced water. I am worried because my plants just sprouted leaves before they began to die. Seems like I did the best thing I could have done for my plants I just have to wait it out.

    Marcys-  if the plants were small, which you said in your opening post, you could probably carefully remove them, rinse the soil from the roots and repot them in some fresh compost. Then just let them get on with it, repotting into a slightly bigger pots as they outgrow the one they're in.  image

    Worth a try if you don't have too many to do!

    My Daughters found a use for it. Where off to Australia for our  hols this year. She says shes going to slap some on me before i go over board swimming with sharks.One last thing I'd like to say. A word of thanks to Lou ,Verdun and Ladybird for cheekyness and leg pulling.For this you've been written out of my will.
