    Knot Grass moth I think.

If you can keep your head, while those around you are losing theirs, you may not have grasped the seriousness of the situation.

  • No photo , sorry  today I saw a Kingfisher flying around canal . I only saw it for a matter of seconds . Such a beautiful bird , I never thought I would see another one for the rest of my life around here .  I first ever saw one about 50 years ago about a half mile from where I saw one today .

We having a swimming lake a short drive away and kingfishers nest on the bank. It's one defiinition of heaven to swim quietly in velvet water and have kingfishers darting back and forth over your head.
  • Today while weeding under the bird feeders (lots of niger seeds germinating) the long tail tits came. They took no notice of me at all. The blue/great tits wouldn't come but the long tails just ignored me as they sent out "kissing" sounds. Brilliant. Spent more time being still and watching them instead of weeding!!!!
