  • Last night our news told us that there is a parliament of short eared owls east of Hull, they have flown over from the continent. Lovely daytime hunting photos and film.

    This is a lovely channel to follow. Stefano, in Quebec, is a young professional wildlife photographer and birder.  He recently bought acres of forest to dedicate to wildlife. It's very high quality production.

    Yes it was @Fire. But on top of that Waxwings make a unique high-pitched 'trilling' sound that when produced simultaneously by 100's of birds is totally hypnotic.

    Waxwings have reached Wales. Only the North for now but there's a flock in Oswestry so they're getting closer. This winter may be my year to see some.
    If you can keep your head, while those around you are losing theirs, you may not have grasped the seriousness of the situation.

    Bit unpredictable where they'll appear next. Downright weird that they were seen in Ireland in the middle of October!
