    @Fire your first photo looks more like a Gatekeeper to me.
    I understand that a meadow brown has one spot of white in the eyes on the wings and a gate Keeper has two white spots. It’s not a great photo.
    I'm inclined to agree with Alan. The extent of the orange colouring, especially on the hind-wing, is more of a Gatekeeper feature. The white spots can be deceiving with both species but the Gatekeeper is smaller and more orange generally.

    If you can keep your head, while those around you are losing theirs, you may not have grasped the seriousness of the situation.

    I figure this to be a juv chaffinch. It looked lost and hoped off into a verge. Strong white wingstripes.

    Stunning colours and markings on this butterfly. What type is it?

    @PenfoldGW very nice indeed.

    @Fritillary lovely little hoggie, unfortunately my 3 haven't been for the last week or so, really hoping they haven't been squished.

    Storks at Knepp (4 mins)
    I love how they always lean left together and then right in their display.

    My daily wildlife moment: I walk out into the back garden with my neighbour's three year old to meet a headless, eviserated bird covered in flies lying near the back door. It might have been a thrush. Oh the joy of having a hoard of neighbourhood cats. They give so many presents. I don't see the upside.
