Slow worms are starting to bask in the open now we’ve had a good stretch of sun and also wet nights. Usually plenty under my refugia but nice to see them in the open.
I decided to try a differently designed feeder for niger seed this year. I am delighted the wind has not emptied it within a few hours and I can now enjoy watching goldfinches feeding. I have hung it in the centre of an obelisk so plenty of perches for them.

Great idea regarding the feeder, will give that a go.
A plug for the London Natural History Society - they have great videos on Youtube, not much to do with London. They have a wide range of speakers with very detailed exploration of topics, over one hour. Goshawks, hares, foxes, oysters, earthworms, beavers, whales, ants - worth exploring.
