Just seen a beautiful cinnabar moth. Not seen these before on my terrace so chuffed that it seems so happy with the flower selection!
Marne la vallée, basically just outside Paris 🇫🇷, but definitely Scottish at heart.

Lovely @Jacquimcmahon, they are beautiful moths. Their primary food plant is ragwort, but I think they are gernerally attracted to areas of long grass and scrubby land

Early this morning. Apparently the wildlife expert for the developers next door did not see a deer, so there isn't one.
    I beg to differ.

We've got this little beasty living on our eleagnus quicksilver. I swear he's growing every day - he can't be far off 2 inches long now! I hope he's not a pest because he's very cute.

@fidgetbones   Very nice to see, loving the fox family.

Love the little sparkly fidgetbones flourish at the end of the clip.

It is a Garden Tiger Moth. Nothing to worry about!

@Alan Clark2 in Liverpool Oh great, what a beauty! Thanks for letting me know - I was hoping it was one of those but so many of the hairy caterpillars look the same to me

Looks like a 'woolly bear,' grows into a Garden Tiger moth. As a kid I used to raise them in jam jars and my brother and I would have caterpillar races on the back steps :)
Magical  to see the moth emerge from the pupa!
  • Slow worms are starting to bask in the open now we’ve had a good stretch of sun and also wet nights. Usually plenty under my refugia but nice to see them in the open.
