Just out to top up the bird feeders, and had to break up a very physical fight between two robins. So busy attacking each other that I was able to walk right up to them, before they separated and flew off in opposite directions.

Yes @Ergates I too have done that. The hubby said my "dinnerlady" voice came out while separating them, he laughed.

My garden is full of big birds at the back wood pigeons, collared doves ,blackbirds , magpies ,crows and up above 4 red kites screeching and diving about . My front garden is where my ‘ babies’ live in the beech hedge all the sparrows after which my house is named , we never get finches ,tits ,or anything remotely pretty ( apart from my little sparrow darlings) how can I get other small birds to pay me a visit ? There is an awful lot of building work here HS2 ,East West railway ,housing estate ,do you think that puts them off ?

I know it might sound odd , but have you thought of a hanging water dish inside one of the bushes? I did this in my flamingo willow,  and the blue tits loved it. With a seed feeder I think they don't have to compete with the large birds,  so are happier @bcpathome 😁

Oh ,I hadn’t thought of something like that . You’re right the little birds would have quite a competition with the amount of larger birds that I get in my back garden . I’ll give it a go if it ever stops raining and see if your idea works . Thank you .

    Your very welcome.
I have multiple types of feeders, some for small birds, some for medium, and the big greedy ones get some on an old paving slab on the floor, it seems to work.😁

    Brilliant @scroggin  :D
The weather's been pretty ugly here today, so I've not seen the pair that have been visiting- maybe they've found a handy feeder somewhere too  ;)
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...

@Fairygirl, that's why they were so hungry then 😂
