wow Doghouse Riley how have you made your wisteria in such a good shape and with so many flowers? and your acer? how long has it taken to get that way?
thanks for that info doghouse riley i will watch your vid. beautiful garden i really love it.
emma lou - i can see bits of tape and things - do you think maybe you've restricted or damaged a branch in doing so? you also say you fed it, perhaps you've over fed it? too much fertiliser can really burn the plant
I fed it one evening and have left it since as I am too scared to water it again! I cannot see any damages to them main stems. Some of the taping on there was done by the store and have left some of the taping as I didn't want the hole thing collapsing but taking it apart before it was established.
emma lou i have burnt plants before and it looked very similar to your wisteria leaves, the antidote is to water it lots to 'flush it out'. if you are worried about over watering i agree with the others just give it time plants have a wonderful way of surviving
There are new shoots but they are tiny. I have chopped a lot of the dead shrivelled leaves and stems. Some of the leaves are falling too. I have watered it again. I have to be prudent as I have informed the gardn store it is sick atm and if I try and do too much they much use the old wangle factor not to give me a refund if it dies completely. When I purchased it, it was quite healthy although thenpot was very dry.nHe told me to give the hole heap loads for water which seemed excessive although did so. I presume by trimming the dead stems etc this stop the wisteria draining any more nutrients from it?
I have just heard back from the tree farm here. He said that every 2 days I should be watering ot 30 litres which seems excessive and then using some of this....
I appreciate it is in french but I am not sure what this is, or what the equivalent is in the UK as I am not a specialist gardener or have need to use such products. I am worried I am overwatering but 30 litres every 2 days to the roots sounds like I am going to drown it!!
Very good thank you. Yes, I could translate it too and yes it will be dear as it's France!!!! What isn't dear over here!! I will get some but have queried the cost of that and the plant and how much we are expected to pay for a plant plus fertiliser if it doesn't work?
A few days on since my last post and our Wisteria has "stabilised" so to speak. It does not have any more shoots or new stems dying, however the temperature has cooled off somewhat. The leave though are yellowy which I thought means over watered? The shop did say to water incredibly well every 2 or 3 days but I am reluctant to do so. There are still one or two leaves falling off. I think there are one or two small shoots on it, so forever hopeful!!! Anyone else have any advice on Wisterias please? It is just the yellow leaves I am unsure about. The store said they will refund us in October but is too soon atm.

He also thinks it is due to excessive heat this week (35 degrees) which has scorched the plant.
