    They're absolutely fine Tingly. Some Hebes can get quite big - 4 or 5 feet depending on the variety - but the roots aren't invasive image

    It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

    I agree with Fairygirl Tingly - hebe are ideal. I have a hebe Margret. It's still in the pot but very compact.

    They don't all have a uniform habit, so choose the right 'shape' to make life easier. The smaller leaved ones (like box foliage - hence the Buxifolia suggestion!) are the ones to look for. 

    Margaret spread quite a bit once it's in the ground wakeshine. Being in the pot will keep it compact. I also have it in a border here, as in a previous garden, as it's my late Mum's name image
