We recently moved into a property in September. The garden was pretty bare but since the summers come in we've started getting all sorts growing in from a field just out the back. Anyone able to confirm if this is Japanese Knotweed?
hi to above the thing is I( can not put photos on ) what my next door garden has what I can only say the plant grows up trees bushes and creeps along the ground like ivy long green tendrils with big white flowers they are coming fron her garden under fence and into my shed they run along the wall base and grow under decking I have pulled up loads told them but don't seem to care .anyone know what it is Michael
theres a little river burn that runs past it also. I'll just have to keep on top of it then. At least I know now, it's not as serious as what I thought. Thank you!
hi and thanks scottnewton84//kitty2 yes I have googled it and it is bindweed and have just gave it a extra good spraying don't think I will se that for a while ??
Sounds very like bindweed to me. I keep leaning over the fence at the bottom of my garden and chopping away at the bottom of the neighbours bindweed, which seem about to encroach on my Clematis Montana. there are leylandii in the garden and they cannot see this stuff romping away. Naughty I know.
hi aimweedy yes it is bindweed I googled it and looked at plant and flowers so the lad next door is moving around the corner to a bungalow he gave it a very extra special spraying for me and I use gypso//////stops every thing so used properly but I think it will stop

Knotweed?
no, that's another invasive alien weed. Himalayan Balsam. Annual, spreads by seed, not root
In the sticks near Peterborough

Michael mpc: Sounds like it could be bindweed.
Have a look on google images to see if it matches your invading plant.
