Think I'd rather have the weevils Dove! We don't get too much trouble with them here, but I don't mind losing the odd plant if the grubs survive to eat anything. Most things I grow aren't really troubled by them anyway, apart from heucheras, and they're so easy to propogate that it's not an issue. Big, sturdy plants/shrubs can cope with a bit of adult leaf damage too.
Fire - snail/slug eggs are always like jelly - you'll see a clump of them rather than individual ones too. Bit like frogspawn
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....
I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
The 'paeonies not liking being moved' is a favourite that comes up on here quite often Sometimes it's personal growing conditions that can colour a 'fact', Fire. That's where this forum is so useful. You can usually find a solution because someone else has had the experience and in the same soil/climate/location as your own. it's great

Gosh I can't believe this post popped up again. Hello everyone. I've been away for months and not done any gardening. But did some today and removed loads of weeds. Need to take pics and start asking questions again. I don't get much time for gardening anymore due to work and commute :-(
I have also picked out the little balls of plant food thinking they were insect eggs. I would go for vine weevil nematodes particularly for plants in pots.

Gardening seems so full of dodgy 'facts', perpetuated by people who are absolutely certain. I won't bring up religion.
