My mum looked out of the front bedroom window one day, many years ago, to observe a smartly dressed gentleman leaning over the wall to dig up her bedding plants. He shook the soil off carefully and placed them in a bag he had brought for the purpose. She was too taken aback to do anything!

Do they honestly think you wouldn't notice? make an effigy of them holding a dianthus, stick it with black pins and hang it from their front door.

On the telly there was a park manager complaining that people were stealing plants. They had to go to lengths to protect items.
