Just keep the base/roots shaded water/feed well & you wont see any fence in 3 or 4 years, i put another one behind my small shed, now i have to keep cutting it back so i can get in my shed ^_^
I water/feed mine twice a week with tomato feed as per feed instructions, i don't feed during flowering, with Gradniflora prune them back after flowering, as the flowers bloom on new growth...
Ok thanks. do you start feeding in spring stop in Autumn? What about planting? Before I dug a large hole, put in extra compost, soaked the plant, mulched the top. i was looking at Taylor's clematis - is this all necessary, was I just unlucky?
You wont go wrong following Taylor's advice, they're one of the, if not thee top Clematis growers in the country, i have had many Clematis plants from them with no complaints, though if i remember correctly my Grandiflora came from a well known supermarket chain, shock horror!!
