Yes. I've been waiting to use it since I was about twelve. It's one of those euphonious words that doesn't slot easily into conversation. I seem to remember growing beans in the dark or something.
This iceberg climber spent the last few years buried in a massive ivy hedge. It was cut down to a stump about a month ago when the new fence was put up. I noticed it had sprouted so I loosened just enough soil around it and gave it a bit of fertiliser. The surrounding soil has been left in true GoS style.
I think it may be a euphemism for something beginning with f and can be used similarly in the appropriate social context - apart from when you are chuffed about something. In which case, are pleased a d proud . You knew this already, didn't you, cloggie

You're mixing with the wrong sort of people B3. It slips into conversation easily here.
OH manages to slot in gibberellins occasionally, that's one of his favourites

How do you pronounce gibberellin Nut? Is it a golfball g or a ginger g? And could you please put it into a sentence.
My friend had a word that she used interchangeably and very adaptably: the word chuff.
'e's chuffed it (he made a mistake)
throw the chuffin' thing away (that is dirty and needs to be disposed of)
I don't give a chuff! (I don't care)
Chuff off (go away)
He gave it a good chuffing (he broke it)

It adds another element to your posts - a bit like a cryptic crossword
I think gibberellin has a ginger G, Cloggie. Summat to do with plant hormones but I can't remember what - need to look it up...
One of my tutors at horticultural college used to pronounce ETIOLATED as ETOLIATED. He was a very serious man so I didn't dare smile.
