I've had a couple of strings of colour changing butterflies from Argos around my shed For the last year. Every night my shed has its own little disco. I'm so happy with them I just got another set to go around the bench on my patio. ❤️

I have some B&Q rock lighty things that are trained up into plants here and there (tastefully doncha know!) but the solar panel is fixed and I'm East/South facing so half the garden gets less sunshine than they need, restricting their positioning.

I bought some cheap ones last year from one of those Home Bargains type shops. They worked well, but I switched them off and removed them for the winter. I doubt they'd stand up to the winter rain here if left out permanently, but I doubt if expensive ones would either.

It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...

I had a simple string of 50 plain lights £2.99 from b&m that lasted 4 years.

Twined them up through a trellis on the patio, they had a pretty long wire on them so I stuck the solar panel bit on the top of the shed facing south. Not super bright but very pretty of an evening.

When they busted I got a fancier set with butterfly casings ( b&m again) but they only lasted 2 years. Cheap as chips though so don't really mind.

I got some solar deck lights using a Groupon deal. They cost more than I'd usually spend but look smart and are bright. I like them. The deal is still going.

if your solars die or dim, turn the switch to off & leave them in a sunny position for 5 days, if this fails just change the battery.

I went to our local esk yesterday with my daughter in law, we went to buy 6 sets of solar 100 string lights marked at £1.99 & a couple of £5 plants, cashier said "that's £74.94 please!" anyway when we queried it turns out the lights should be £12.99 we asked him to go check, so another lad went to check and he agreed it was marked up wrong by the new assistant and they should be £12.99, my dil said "well, we should get them for £1.99 then shouldn't we?" he reluctantly agreed and the dil said "so we can go get some more can we?" he kind of made a terrified face so we took that as a yes and got 4 more boxes, i think he got off lightly really that we didn't clear the shelves image
