Are yours mostly English shrub roses Marlorena? Sorry if this message comes up twice. The browser cannot cope with all the ads on this website. It keeps crashing.

..well about one third of my roses are English shrubs, the rest are quite a mixture of old and new, some quite rare as I collect  a few..

...I absolutely love your photos, gorgeous roses, I love them all,  thanks for posting these...  always love to see more whenever anyone has the time...  and great that Beales were able to identify most of them for you...

..I wouldn't worry too much for this season, but perhaps now if you can manage,  or during next winter you can start tidying up some of those older roses, like pruning them down and clearing away any undergrowth... there's nothing worse than seeing tall lanky roses with just a few blooms stuck on the top...  but all in good time, there's no need to rush... it's only gardening and we can do more or less as we please, when we want...

Thank you so much. I very much enjoyed looking at yours too. I would love to get some English shrub roses but no space right now. Unfortunately some of the roses are 'tall lanky roses with just a few blooms stuck on the top'. If I prune them right down next winter, will they get their new stems and blooms back? I will stop rushing and worrying so much...really have been trying to do so much lately...it's never-ending, and it's still not even summer!

..yes absolutely, it will rejuvenate them... let us hope we have a good summer... and we can share more of our roses...
