Do you think Sheps made the planters huge so that the green-eyed amongst us can't swipe them? Take an end Topbird! image

  • Well i think cats are brilliant!

That's cos your cats don't poop in your garden.

    Just sayin. image

If the plants die down in winter you'll just have to remember to reinstall the chicken wire protection to stop them returning.  I've mentioned before my preferred solution of a shotgun but that wasn't well received in some areas. image

Mattwestyorks just fainted. I heard him hit the floor! I once saw a thread on here where someone wanted to whack them (not in the Mafia way) and was taken to task for advocating cruelty to animals. Maybe we should mention an irony button to Daniel. I'm sure there's room on tomorrow's agenda for one more thing. image

Thanks once again everyone...my planting depends on whether or not the sun will be high enough in the sky come June.

At the minute, a shadow cast by the back fence, is covering the raised beds by about 2ft and if this persists then I will have no choice but to plant up shade loving plants, thus ruining my plans for the plants I mentioned earlier image

I live in West Yorks, Matt...and you are more than welcome to my pesky cat poop.

As it happens, I watered the beds at about 22.30 last night and this morning no cat poop. Also, I have ordered some of those Ultrasonic Cat Deterrents, so will report back if they are successful.

Sorry for the thread resurrection, but here is a little update.

I ended up buying 2 of the ultrasonic cat deterrents, made by Pestbye and these along with the anti climb spikes seem to have done the trick image

It's been over a month since I fitted the above and I have not had a single cat poop in the flower beds, so I guess you could say that I'm more than happy image

    Here are some pictures

the deterrents are mounted at opposite ends of the flower beds, so give full coverage and pick up any movement from about 25ft away.

and the cat spikes run all along the tops of the fences, it's quite comical watching the cats as they try to figure out how to traverse the fence, the simple answer is that they don't image

Great stuff Sheps. They're the bane of my life. I used gripper rod on some of the fence, but I've just invested in one of the water scarers since I got an outside tap put in recently during building work. Wish I'd done the tap as soon as I moved in - would have saved me a lot of time, money and patience over the last three years. It's brilliant  image

It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...

Thanks B3...I'm hoping to be poop free for many years image

Hi Fairy...if my outside tap was in a better position I would have one of those water scarers.
