Does it matter?  Who is she anyway?  A B lister?  Expect she's on google then.

Couldn't you have just scrolled by, rather than show your ignorance???

No.  I wasn't being snitty.  What does it matter how old she is?  She's not a garden rose or other horticultural treasure is she?

Oh Chicky how awful! I hope your dad wasn't too scared by the whole affair: thank goodness for neighbours.

For those who don't know (I must confess I wasn't sure)  Amanda Holden was born 16th February 1971 making her, correctly, 45 years old. Her parents married in June 6, 1970 so clearly they weren't hanging about in the whole baby making type efforts but fortunately my ten minute tea break isn't enough to find when her mother was born. I'm sure someone will have it in their depths of knowledge: we are such varied people!

Thank goodness for Google. How wonderful it is at making some of us APPEAR a LOT MORE educated than we really are!

Yes Hazel, they are still going out. They have been hardened off, and I think the temperature is not going to get too low.

I think a lot depends on how sturdy the plants are.

I have just three - After Eights - and they're in pots, in the garage.  We open the door by day so they, and other plants such as the two courgettes and a pumpkin, can have sunlight without wind and stay tucked up warm at night.   Nowhere near as far on as this time last year so they're staying in for at least a few more days.

I'm sorry to hear about your Dad, Chicky. I hope he makes a good recovery.

I'm amazed to find that most of the dahlias I grew from seed last year and planted in various beds are now about 6" tall.

I'm about to make strawberry jam. I will need it for my charity Church Strawberry Tea on the 11th.
