Daniel has posted to say they're sorry about the mess and are going to fix it but can't go back to the old format as 50% of posters now use mobile phones to access the forum.   Strange to think they'd risk losing the 50% that use laptops but there you go.

Going to the Home page helps with getting to Latest Posts but still can't get to last post read on a thread.   We're going to need lots of patience while they sort it out or else a new home.

Anyway, sunny here but chilly.   OH had a good day yesterday dead heading daffs and weeding under the holly hedge then laying membrane and chipped bark with granite pavers to edge the grass.  He's out at golf today, having a rest.

I'm still faffing with admin and preps for the dance club's annual show this Saturday.    Doesn't help that my main email address has techy problems and I've had to change..........

Roll on Sunday when it will all be over and I can get some proper gardening done again and time for my own projects and plans.

WW  I wholeheartedly agree with you.  It may be a surprise to the regular posters especially, but I have been a much happier person in the short time I have been on the forum.

It's impossible to have any sort of communication with OH and the forum brought "company" from early morning to bed time and often during the night as well.

Like others, I will persevere for some time. Please don't leave. Thanks.

Hate this format, but will carry on for the time being. Losing going to the last post I looked at and being able to edit and the loss of email notifications are my biggest upsets. I don't think the French advertisers have found this site and the English ones haven't found France yet, but I'm not getting ads so far Sshhh!

Think I over did it yesterday and didn't drink enough. Was still weeding in the evening after OH went to choir practice. It was warm and sunny and I've gone red at the back of my neck. Last night I felt awful and had lower abdominal pain. Dog woke me at 7am but I went back to sleep until after 9am. Feel a bit better now but hands and shoulders ache. Usually spring weeding is done over a period of time until June but I'm having to get it all OK at the same time by the 8th May. Wasn't my choice of date. I would like the roses in flower, they are buds, same for clematis. It's too soon.

  • Hello all. Just back from shopping. Stopped to get a new watering can rose. Came home with a peony. I already have lots of peonies. Oh well.

Don't laugh but I've had to resort to using a magnifying glass today, as I can't enlarge the screen on my tablet like I used to. image. (I do go to specsavers, terribly shortsighted)

I don't often join in with the chat here but feel compelled to comment today.

I would like to echo the sentiments of Wonky and Joyce, not only is this forum a great source of gardening information but also somewhere I can come for a bit of company amongst like minded people.

On days when I'm feeling a bit low, isolated or downright useless this place can always bring a smile to my face.

I'm saddened at the thought that people are leaving and the forum may never be the same again.

Thinking of Lyn today as I believe it's her fathers funeral. (Sorry if I'm mistaken)

    Kitty.

    Come in for a drink.

Yes, Kitty, it is Lyn's father's funeral today.

I'm packing up for the night at 11.05pm, so will bid you all night, night.  I must say that Wonky's comments rind true with me as well. I don't get to meet people here on the property, so I enjoy chatting and reading the various posts. I love being involved in the various struggles and joys that you all share.

Thinking of Lyn. It's always hard to get back to normal after a funeral. I know I felt sort of rudderless for some time after my daughter died.

Bestvwishes for a good day for everyone.

    Hi all.

Taking a break from complaining about the new format to see what else is going on.  Trouble is, it's difficult to see, because.....

The posts today from Daniel indicate a willingness to fix and improve so I'm going to be patient for a few days more.   The techies may have let us down badly but this community is worth waiting for a fix and I hope we won't all end up relocating or dispersing or just going quiet.

Meanwhile - big hugs to all who need them to get through a  difficult day for whatever reason.  Have fun, those who can get out there and garden.
