Wilkos have steel green painted rings in at the moment. There is a large size and a smaller size.

Hmm, I tried to post a link to an eBay listing but it doesn't work - part of the link seems to trigger some html code and inserts a picture instead. It was to a listing of "Mild Steel Round Bar Rod 6mm", is that the one to get?

Great! I've ordered a lot of dahlia bulbs, so these will come in really handy.

I use 5mm steel for reinforcing concrete and find I can bend it easily enough.   Love the rusty look which makes them largely invisible.  Ours comes in 5m lengths which I cut according to the height of the plant I need to support so shorter for peonies and longer for echinops and helianthemums.

Obelixx, please could you tell me what sort of place sells the 5mm steel rods - and what you use to cut it? Thanks

OK Scroggin.  Builders' merchants and bolt cutters Alex.  However, last time I bought them I'd taken my cutters so they were easier to load into the car so, of course, chappy volunteered to cut them for me.
