No they never self seed. i collect the seeds as they are turning brown or black, they squeeze out of the pods. I sowed them last Sunday, they are just starting to germinate.
No, all of mine are deep blue. They originally came from a packet of Sarah Ravens labelled as deep blue. Not many in the original packet of seed, but as they are big seeds, I collected a hundred or so and then sow in plug trays individually. Very easy.
