mystery pink flowers
in Plants
I planted these pink/red flowering plants a few years ago and they were in my garden for a single year (I keep photos). I dont normally like to spend too much money on annuals and i was delighted at how much i got from these and would like to replicate. I cant remember whether i bought a tray of plug plants or a packet of seeds but they were a great success. Would anyone like to have a crack at naming them ? Is it some king of dianthas?
BTW I seldom get beyond BandQ or Homebase so i doubt if they are exotic or rare.

Looks like godetia to me.
But either godetia is now clarkia or it's the other way around

I thought Godetia too.
Whatever they are, they are gorgeous.
I was going to say Clarkia - but that might date me .... or it might not

So what's clarkia called?
They're both clarkia, but different species
I think the one in the pic may be Clarkia amoena, formerly Godetia amoena. The complete name, which always has 2 parts, is rarely used. There are many species of Clarkia.
Clarkia elegans is what we knew as clarkia

Have a look at Godetia Rembrandt in Thompson and Morgan. If you sow now they will be in flower in about 10 weeks.
