Tulip Spade Monty!!??

What's that Tulip Spade you're using Monty? We use a Dutch bulb planter - long wooden handle with metal cylindrical base which digs out a plug at a time. Takes forever one bulb at a time esp in our wet English soil!!

    Me too Lantana.

  • I'm watching to find out how he'll train Nell to stop romping through the borders... my Goldie puppy spends far too much time getting his feet muddy and trampling on plants!

Not sure if this is big dog syndrome but my black lab used to do the same thing, straight route through the borders.

Now, Flynn (avatar) chooses the paths wisely, although I have to leave his special spots free, can't plant at gap in fence or his crazy chase-me route when he runs under the phormium and round the border in a high speed circle

  • Dogs, pesky critters!

I just found mine on the other side of the garden fence, wandering in the border on the drive way side. No idea how he got there. He's either into tunnelling or he's figured out that he can clear the fence if he takes a run up...

  • Back to the 'Tulip spade'......didn't see the program, but it hasn't gone unnoticed, the vast array of gimmicky tools on display at Longmeadow..... and indeed the number if threads here, asking where they can buy them.......doh!!! image

I've no idea (or want to know) the practices that operate at Mr D's place, but am familiar with what took place at Clack's Farm when Arthur Billitt hosted GW from there. All of the greenhouses were freebies from 'Alton', as were most tools, seeds (always Suttons) and other items.

Call me a cynic, but it does sometimes amaze me how gullible we, the GPP are.

  • I just enjoy the programme for what it is ...... having a look around someone elses garden(s), enjoying the plants, the company, the chat and the dogs image

Footballers get paid to wear a certain brand of boots.

Why shouldn't Monty be given new tools?

Some of us like Monty, some don't. Some who don't seem to take some pleasure in being unkind about him.

How can you lie there and think of England
When you don't even know who's in the team
