Clematis advice please

  • Montanas once established can be very vigorous after flowering should be cut back to   a couple buds (on each stem) just above ground level as they will flower on the new growth next year.

    Hi has anyone got any suggestions for summer flowering clematis that can withstand windy conditions and only gets afternoon sun! Thanks

  • Hi pugslovesun,

    I have a very wind swept garden and Viticella were suggested by Thorncroft Nursery as they are small flowered and less likely to catch the wind. They flower later and tolerate shade.
