A friend is planning a trip to France to stock up on booze before we leave the EU and Import Duty goes back on wine that she brings in from her trips to the continent.

At the rate she and her OH consume it, she'd better plan a few more trips between now and then image  She's voting out, by the way.

But she can't drive over there, buy in bulk at reduced rates and fill up her car boot can she?  Loads and loads of people do that.

I'm confused by her because she's of Polish heritage although born here  - her elderly father has returned to live in Poland ..................... maybe she doesn't want him coming back image

I am trying to find a large Vote Remain board, to display on our boundary, mainly to p##s off my neighbours, who are bound to support BREXIT.

How can you lie there and think of England

I remember a few years back chatting to a Polish check out lady in Aldi just before Christmas and asking if she was going home for Christmas. I was told very fiercely that she was home, Poland was no longer home. I then said wasn't Christmas a time when peiple went to see their families, to which she replied "maybe some of us don't want to see our families".

I live to the east of Manchester in real Labour heartland and can assure you that many Labour voters will be voting to leave despite what the Labour leadership think. The Labour leadership lost a lot of respect around here during the Blair regime with their sneers at veteran labour members as dinosaurs and Brown calling the lady in Rochdale a bigot. The Islington mafia still have too much influence for the party to accurately represent what its core voters in the north think.

  • I've never thought it anything to do with the parties Tetley ....... I feel that some - whatever their political allegiance - have lost touch with the reality of the situation and some of those supposedly leading the country lost touch with reality a while ago .....

and - God forbid - nylon knickers ........ I've always had problems with static electricity ....... those were the days when the cat wouldn't come near me ...... but it was always okay when I was wearing the double seated navy blue gym ones with the pocket image
