I have a load of Spanish Bluebells that have grown somehow in full sun in just gravel... they're out there right now. They've been in full bloom for ages now
I have been trying to get rid of Spanish bluebells for 20+ years (as well as the wild type crocosmia) but thats another thread, and I've gracefully admitted defeat. It does mean that I do not feel too guilty when I remove some to plant other perennials in their place

This is one of the ones I referred to earlier in the thread. I'd dug them up and stuck them in a pot thinking I had Spanish, maybe I was wrong.
Thin leaves, dark blue flower, droopy stem, yellow anthers.
What do you think?
(Hope the photo works it's my first since the change, had to take it inside as the breeze was blowing them around and making them fuzzy on screen)
I read somewhere about the poistion of the bells on the stem but I'm old and it was last year so I forget. Give it a Google.

Kitty I think you have a hybrid? Apparently British one only appear one side of the stem. Yours look all way round
Thanks ice.
Hybrid eh,
I was getting hopeful when it matched treehuggers description.
Shame, I was hoping to keep a few in pots to keep them under control.
I've the same problem. After reading this think green bin may be in use
