No such luck Lyn! runner beans in pots on my window ledge... In Manchester!!! Not sure whether to laugh or cry... Got told today that my work hours are now going from 35 to 28... sure,y that's a sign isn't it?
Here goes..... Looking forward to spending 4 hours at a local garden centre today... 'Grow your own veg' event.... Tips, hints etc but what I'm really looking forward to is meeting a nice bunch of people who are like minded... Might even ask about volunteering as they partner up with Mind to help people with mental health issues... They even have a course that combines gardening with mindfulness ????
Good news Luv, there is nothing you cannot do if you set your mind to it nothing.
I gave up my senior nursing job in the NHS as I thought I would have a breakdown if I carried on and went off to do a podiatry degree in my 40's. I'm now a part time NHS podiatrist.
I know my limits and I know I'll be done with this by 60 if not before so I'm training to become a bookbinder which I can do as long as my hands work with maybe a bit of private chiropody on the side if the work doesn't come in.
My retirement date is 67 so I need to do something.
In my home town which is really a retirement town by the sea they are crying out for lady gardners. An awful lot of the widowed retired ladies here don't really trust men and nearly always hire women gardners if they can find them. Not really many skills needed other than to mow the lawn and keep the beds looking ok.
