It was me that mentioned Mayflower. Nearly all my roses are David Austin and non of them cause me much trouble. I FBB them in Feb, mulch them in March, give them a spray early in the season and feed them in June. No more than I do with all my flowering plants really.
Thanks, Yviestevie. I think I have less than ideal conditions--very enclosed garden--all those I have tried have been OK for a couple of years but then become ever more diseased. I have to say I have gardened in many places and the soil here must be particularly awful, because I have always found roses easy to grow before now. The only ones not struggling are the Albas.
