I sowed mine today. Heated greenhouse so frost free and they are on a heated tray. I always like to pinch them out so the earlier the better. image

  • I planted some in February and they are about 3 to 4 inches tall already - I can't remember if I have to nip the tops off them - they look healthy enough - and I have planted more since which are just beginning to form their first leaf. I grew them last year for the first time and was bowled over by their colour - lasting qualities and easy to grow.

I sowed some cheap lidl cosmos mix seeds on Sunday just gone. at 29p I thought I can risk the impatience. I'm in Suffolk in a Suntrap sheltered walled garden, they are in the plastic greenhouse thingy, fingers crossed!

  • I've got mine on the list for May - probs why they're always flowering in Novimage

I sowed mine yesterday, they are on a window sill, but soon I will get the heating organised in the greenhouse. I have heated mats, a cable in sand and 3 electric propagators (which are also on the window sill at the moments with tomatoes and other seeds in them).

Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.
