    I also have 'Glasnevin'.

    I cut it back pretty hard in early spring and by May it looks like this image:-

    Oooh, that is just how I want mine to look.

    Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.

    Thanks everyone, for taking the time to comment and send pictures about growing the Glasnevin plant, it has really helped me in making a decision.
