I'm really enjoying it, it's nice to see the owners not only have the ideas but do the work too (as opposed to the 'garden makeover' type shows where it's all done for them) and to see Monty getting stuck in with them. It actually comes across as 'proper' gardening.
We all strive for perfection - but perfection breeds boredom in my mind. We visited one of our local public gardens yesterday - it is perfect - the flowers are gorgeous and all so neat in rows - but so, so predictable - I love the little neglected areas where the birds can forage and the plants are more naturally planted or perhaps have reseeded.
That's a lovely idea amy280 - gardens shouldn't be hard work all the time, but instead a place to enjoy and be surprised by the more natural aspects of the garden. I like to be tidy - but I also like areas of abandonment - that is where the unpredictable happens...... I remember my father taking me to one of the parks here - instead of looking at the pretty flowers I just wanted to make dens in the overgrown bamboos, I was a bit of a tomboy!

Enjoyment is the key to anything aym280 and with enjoyment comes passion - it's your space & a place to express yourself!

Was it just me or did Josh (dad to the lovely Noah) basically dress as a Monty tribute band?
No Steve, I thought exactly the same thing, also dressed in a similar style to the other fella (with the scented mints etc) minus the hat.
I found it sweet, that he was imitating his "hero".
When you don't even know who's in the team
S.Yorkshire/Derbyshire border
" the king of horticulture"
"the guru of English gardening"
" The master of garden design"
Really? I mean Really?
It's just 'marketing speak' Hosta - no one expects anyone to take it seriously LOL
Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.
how can you take it seriously Dove, it's laughably untrue.
