Small village in Cambridgeshire. Open fields all around so always windy (and wet)

Kingswinford (where West Mids, South Staffs and Worcestershire meet).  Medium sized garden with great soil, west facing.

Hi from Kingswinford in the West Midlands
  • Our gardens vary enormously but we all share the same ideals, that is to grow what either looks good or is tasty, practical or to enhance our outdoor areas. I think I may be the furthest south in the British Isles and Maisie M the most northerly. Islands are lovely when the weather is good but we do experience plenty of windy days and then there is the salt....

Urban Wiltshire town. Just under an acre split into orchard, veg garden and flowers. And an allotment up the road. Heavy clay. Crest of a hill, so windy as anything in places.

Southern edge of Isle of Wight - but not sheltered undercliff. Fairly large former paddock on heavy clay so waterlogged in winter and strong salty winds. Glorious views, lots of sun - bliss!

Peak District National Park, just above 400m contour line, south facing. 1 to1 and a half acres of garden, depending on how you define it, plus several more acres of sheep grazing. Variety of soils, shaly, silty, clayey, boggy and good meadow loam. High rainfall, cold winters, windy, short growing season, wonderful views and skyscapes. Challenging gardening but when it goes well it's magical!

The map doesn't work for me now on the iPad, even so, someone moved mine and shows me miles from where I live.

Gardening on the wild, windy west side of Dartmoor.

Lyn, I had your address, but I seem to have lost it. I've moved you to NW Dartmoor, but if it's not right and you would like it moved let me know.

Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.
  • 180ft up the north end of Dundee. Nice and windy.
