It's been horrible here for the last 2 days, cold, wet and windy.  Good job I've got 'backup' runner beans still in the GH as those planted out will probably be ruined by the weekend. image  Good job I didn't risk the squashes!

Having had multiple household issues including several serious water leaks I have been very frustrated at not being able to get out in the garden and GH since last August!  So, started my gardening year mid May feeling despondent. Whahey! Seems my garden goblin is working overtime and this wet and windy weather can't get to my veg as they are still seedlings.

They say its an ill wind.........   but getting bored now and would really like a bit of warmer weather to garden in as the cycle of fleece on to go out,  then dig, rake, fleece off as too hot, weeding, composting, fleece on as now freeeeezing is getting a bit old.

Bob, I guess my runner beans will be going out with your 'back ups' and the squash is not even poking through. Can't believe I have my heated propagator on in June!

Thought I would try Cucamelons this year, anyone got any experience? Should I risk outdoors or let them fight it out with the cucumbers in the GH?

  • No sunshine yet - supposedly arriving this afternoon! Dull, windy and cool - oh dear not a typical June day at all. Ever hopeful ......

At last, 2 days without rain. I hung up the washing today, but it's still damp as the air is so humid. Left it on the line.

Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.
  • Again more glorious weather in SW Ireland got sun burn while clipping box topiary today, this weather to last until next Wednesday ... this could be our Irish summer image

Still got the hosepipe out here in Devon.

Awwww don't say that G&W! We're due some showers here in Fermanagh tomorrow but I'm hoping it's just a wee blip and we'll be back to untraditional sunshine again soon. image

Overcast but very warm here this morning and 84% humidity. image No drying here either BL!

We are suppose to have a high of 23 today, makes a lovely  change after all the horrid weather we have had recently . Needless to say that it is also the last day of my holiday too! Grrrr!

  • PP ha ha "back to untraditional sunshine" so true here anyway. Will have to water some flower beds soon as some plants are wilting already. I keep putting off doing it thinking this weather won't last it's too good to be true when the UK have had terrible weather never mind floods in France!!!
